Aines 240 Weathertite Tone Test Set     

The AINES Model 240 Tone Test Set is a water resistant tone generator equipped with a weathertite 2 conductor modular cord and jack.

The set can be connected to the Network Interface Device (NID) with either the two individual clips or the modular cord.

This allows the CPE circuit to be viewed in both directions, towards the Central Office and towards the customer premise.

In the event the CPE does not have a jack, but instead has a cord, plug the cord into the Model 240s jack and transmit tone!

The following tests can be performed using the Model 240 Tone Test Set.   

Trace cable pairs.   

Locate cables in walls when used with either the AINES 150SP STATIONMAN Probe, the AINES 250SSP Speaker Probe or the 500SMP Stationman Filter Probe.    

Provide talk battery on dead pairs.   

Check for shorts and opens using the LED.

When using the modular cord, the test set will also show if the modular wall box is grounded.

Continuity test.   

Tip & Ring identifications.   

Line condition identification.
